Abandoned – This refers to submissions that have been “abandoned” by the submitter, meaning the submitter no longer wishes for the submission to be reviewed.AddressThe physical address, usually for a venue.
Administrator – A person with the authority to do everything in the system, including setting payment account information.
Assigned Schedule – The schedule that speakers have been assigned by the event organizer. This schedule will show them the sessions they are going to be active participants in.
Attendee – People who are attending your event. Includes everyone attending, whatever their role. Excludes people who are just visiting the website but have no other involvement in your event.
Badges – Badges can be printed off and given to Participants and attendees and can contain contact information on an easily scannable QR code to help everyone in the network. Badges are customizable to the desires of the attendees and participants.
Budget – The estimated expenditure for your event.
Call for submissions – An announcement to potential presenters stating what you are looking for, and how potential presenters can go about submitting the requisite forms, documents, files, etc. for your consideration.
Chart of accounts – Grenadine suggests a default chart of accounts to keep track of your event planning budgets and actual costs.
Child Session – A small session happening within a larger “parent” session. Most often, there are several “child” sessions taking place in the same room at the same time.
Contacts – You manage a list of people for your event. This list contains speakers, attendees, staff, and other people who may not yet have a specific role, for example, people you intend to invite.

Currency for this event – The currency that can be used to make payments to register/purchase tickets for the event and or sessions.
Electronic Notice Board – Monitors that display what is happening and where at an event. Any electronic notice board that is capable of displaying a web page can be connected to Grenadine to display.
Event – The overall event taking place. For example “Comicon” is the overall event.

Event Lifecycle – The event from the very beginning to the very end. Grenadine will help you organize every step.
Event Organizer – The person in charge of overseeing/delegating the entire lifecycle of the event.
Exchange rate: event currency vs global currency – The exchange rate you set, to deduct for “global currency” amounts in your event.
Exhibitor – An organization presenting their products or services at an event booth.
Info Email – This is the general address that will be published in various places on your websites and mobile apps and is meant to be the address where you, the event organizer, can be reached. For example, when we display a link such as “contact the event organizer”, this is will be the e-mail address to receive those messages. The Info Email is also used to notify you when certain things happen on your system, such as when a speaker sends you a file through the event website. Make sure that you set up the Info Email properly to a live address that represents your event and from which you will be able to respond.
Mail Merge – Mail merge fields allow you to send a message to many people with the same layouts but personalized for each recipient. Several mail merge fields are available to help you send mass personalized emails to your event attendees, speakers and staff.
Organization – A company/institution that can have the role of exhibitor, sponsor, or supplier for your event.
Parent Session – When you have many things on your event calendar happening at the same time and in the same room, you may want to group them under a common “parent” session. A “parent” session is the reverse of a “child” session.
Pay later – This option allows people to reserve a ticket and pay later, by check, money order, or in person at the event.
Post-registration message – The message sent to attendees after they have successfully completed their registration for your event.
Poster Session – The presentation of research information, usually peer-reviewed work, in the form of a paper poster that conference participants may view.
Pre-requisite Purchase – On occasion a ticket will only be able to be purchased after a purchase has already been made. For example, an event may offer “spouse tickets”, in this case, a pre-requisite ticket would need to be purchased.
Private Event – A private event is more exclusive and more “hidden” than an unlisted event. When you create a private event, Grenadine will give your event a special link that contains a secret token as part of the link.
Promo Code – Promo Codes can be used to sell limited or private tickets. Certain ticket types will not be visible without a promo code.
Purchaser – The person who purchased the ticket. The ticket purchaser and the ticket holder may not always be the same person, for example, if an institution is purchasing a ticket for an employee, the institution is the ticket purchaser.
Push Messages – Messages that go directly to the phones of attendees/participants using the Grenadine Event Guide mobile app. Event organizers are able to send push messages using the mobile app.

Representative – A person that publicly represents an organization.
Reviewer – A person reviewing a submission.
Room Scheduling Conflicts – Room scheduling conflicts appear when a room has been double booked.
Session – The individual sessions on taking place during the overall event. For example, talks, panel discussions, luncheons, etc. are all referred to as “sessions”. If it is on the schedule for the event, it is referred to as a “session” by Grenadine.

Speakers – People who are speaking, presenting, performing, on a panel, etc at one or more sessions at the event.
- Alternate Term(s): Speaker, moderator, panelist, exhibitor, performer, etc.
Submission – Submissions will include all of the information/files you receive from potential presenters or participants. For example, perhaps your event requires those submitting to include the work they would be showcasing at your event (eg. a film or paper), as well as a survey providing relevant details about their work and professional background.
Surveys – Create surveys to gather information and opinions from Attendees and Participants about the event as a whole or individual sessions.

Ticket Holders – Ticket holders are the individuals who will be attending the event with a ticket. The Ticket holder may differ from the ticket purchaser in the event the ticket was purchased by another individual or party on behalf of the ticket holder.
Ticket Type – The types of tickets available for example early bird, student, etc. “Ticket Types” can also be used in call for submissions when there is a fee per submission, or if you are selling something (ie. t-shirts) prior to your event.

Unlisted Event – An unlisted event is not quite public, but not really a big secret either. It’s similar to what you might remember as an unlisted phone number (if you’re old enough to remember what a phone book looks like!). When you mark your event as unlisted, Grenadine will no longer include your event links in event directories. This means that you will need to send out a link to your event to the audiences that need to see it.
Venue – The place where the event happens. Below I have listed several links showing that the industry term tends to be “venue” as opposed to “location”

Venue Name – The name of the venue where the event is taking place, for example, “Grenadine Hotel”.
Visibility – Some elements can have a visibility, such as events, sessions, or schedule entries. Visibility can be set to “public”, “private”, or “organizer”. Events can also be set to “unlisted”. Visibility refers to the setting that determines who can see the element for which the visibility is set.
At Grenadine, we try to consistently reuse the same icons so that they become second nature for our users. Here are some icons that we reuse a lot and what they mean.
This icon looks like a rectangle with an arrow going out. You will find it at the top-right of most tables on the Grenadine Admin.
Exported lists of entities are saved in a standard Excel file (.xlsx file format). All data is exported to regular text fields, except for photos (such as people bio photos) which are exported as a full URL.
The double-headed arrow will appear when you hover your cursor over the left side of some tables. Drag and drop this icon to sort table rows as needed.
