Introduction
A Venue in Grenadine is a physical location in which your event or part of your event is held. Venues can have one or more rooms, location information displayed on maps for your event’s people, and agendas based on sessions and events for which your Venue’s are assigned. Venues allow you to conveniently manage locations across all of your events.
Venue Management
Grenadine’s Venues are shareable amongst your events. This means that once you create a Venue, the Venue setup including rooms, location, and other information can be used in one or multiple events. From your instance Venues table, you can add, edit, and manage Venues across your entire instance. Within an event, you can see and manage Venues associated with the event.
Venue location
A Venue’s location is it’s physical address. In Grenadine’s Event Websites, your Venues’ locations are placed on a map for your attendees to view and get directions. When inputting your Venue locations, there are two components to focus on: the Venue’s address and the Venue’s lat/long coordinates. Grenadine uses the lat/long coordinates of a Venue to accurately display locations on your event’s public map. You can simply input your Venue’s address and let Grenadine try to find the lat/long coordinates, or you also have the ability to input the Venue’s latitude and longitude to ensure accuracy for your map and Venue directions.
Venue schedule
A Venue can be assigned as a location for an event or session. To assist you in keeping track of your Venue’s usage, Grenadine provides helpful features to monitor your Venue’s agenda. On the Venue’s table, the Usage column is a visual representation of the Venue’s usage for the instance or event, depending on which scope you are currently viewing. You can use this column to get a quick idea of your Venue’s usage at a glance. For a more detailed view of the Venue’s agenda, the Schedule tab in a Venue panel is a full, exportable listing of the events and sessions occupying the Venue.
Deleting a Venue
Whether you no longer have access to a Venue or just have a change of plans, Grenadine gives you the ability to remove a Venue from a single event or your entire instance. Depending on your desired outcome, pay special attention to the behavior when removing Venues within event or instance scope.
Deleting a Venue from an event
When you want to remove a Venue from a single event, you can simply delete the Venue from your event’s Venues table. This operation will remove any association of the Venue from your event’s sessions, including all linked Rooms. The Venue and it’s Rooms will no longer be associated with the event, but will still exist in your instance and any other events the Venue is associated with.
Deleting a Venue from an instance
If you want to remove a Venue from your entire instance, you will delete the Venue from your instance’s Venues table. When you delete a Venue from your instance, the Venue and it’s linked Rooms will be removed from all events in your instance. This means that all associations with sessions, booths, meetings, etc. will be deleted for it’s Rooms as well.
Note: Deleting Venues from your instance is not a permanent deletion, as these objects and their stored data can be restored from the trash; however, their associations with events or sessions cannot be recovered.
